Bob Graham Round

I always thought Engand was a bit bigger, but it was ony six and haf hours from the southeast corner in Kent to the nothwest corner in Cumbria, where I am currenty learning what I've gotten mysef in for: Wastach 100 elevation gain in 2/3rds the distance, with 42 'tops' over lots of rocks, snow and bogs. This one could get a little crazy. The weather foreast looks relatively benign, so that's something to be thankful for, but there will udoubtedly be wind to deal with. Kick off is at 2am tomorrow morning (T-11 hours).

The view from Wickersgil, where we are staying.

  3. Best of luck!! Looking forward to hearing how it goes. Ran stage 1 and stage 5 (assuming clockwise direction) weekend before last and it certainly made me appreciate why the BGR in Winter is so much tougher!

  4. As a Brit, i cant wait to here how this one play's out. I was trudging around there a few months back and it's going to be a toughie! Mind you, shouldn't struggle, having the Rockies as a training yard! No pressure! Good luck.

For bragging rights, it sounds like you're right in the burliest mid-winter timeframe. Enjoy your solstice!

  8. Nick, I got home safe and sound. Great to finally talk in person. As Fred Rogerson used to tell every BG aspirant, never look more than 1 peak ahead. Eat well, rest as well as you can. I will see you at Honister tomorrow evening. Don't be late! All the best. Morgan
